A large vintage art glass fruit bowl, designed by Oiva Toikka for Nuutajarvi/Nuutajärven Lasi (Finland) in 1964, made later for iittala. This is a 1970s to 1980s vintage version - the 2010 iittala relaunch of the design did not feature this larger 8" sized bowl. The Kastehelmi design was: "inspired by morning dewdrops, Kastehelmi’s glass droplet design brings the outdoors in".
Bright and clear moulded pressed glass. Textured underneath and on the outer edges in distinctive concentric circles of bobbles, straight sides tapering outwards. Could also be used as a large serving bowl.
Excellent condition. 8" or 20cm wide at the rim x just under 10cm or 4" tall.
