A stunning art glass long oval bowl, designed by Ladislav Palecek at Skrdlovice Glassworks in 1977 (Czech/Bohemian). Palecek worked at Skrdlovice from 1957 to 1990 and was renowned as both a designer and glassmaker, skilled and likened to any of the Beranek glass artists. It's model number 7719/33 (design number 7719, 33cm long).
This dish was hand made in the 1990s at Beranek Glass, Czech Republic. It's an organic freeform shallow heavy glass dish, chunky and tactile glass, mouth blown and artist made. Apx 30 years old, it has a Beranek Glass paper sticker.
The outer layer is a deep vibrant cobalt blue, with a thin clear oval shape, and an emerald green inner oval and foot. The oval is deliberately off-centre. It's a stunning 1970s colourful design and this example displays beautifully. Really good condition. Base is flat and polished with no signs of age.
A large statement 32.3cm x 17.8cm wide x 5cm tall. Weighs 1.4kg - a chunky long shallow 70s design bowl.
