A vintage art glass (crystal content) small bowl or candle holder, designed by Kjell Engman for Boda in the 70s (later became Kosta Boda). This Swedish moulded asymmetrical design is called 'Rhapsody'. More unusual in this smaller votive size, these are usually plant pot holder sized. Circa 1970s or 1980s vintage.
It's handmade (blown into a mould) and depicts four different scenes of a couple dancing in 3D relief, with trees (an apple orchard?). The rim is undulating and irregular. It's a bright clear crystal glass. Highly textured - looks stunning in the sun. Dessert bowl sized - perfect for a votive/candle holder or for serving smaller portions of peanuts or individual ice creams etc. Suitable for holding both a tealight and pillar candle. Good thick chunky weighty crystal glass (has a lovely crystal ring). Roughly round shape with slightly flared out sides, rounded base.
Irregular rim height varies between 6cm and 7.2cm tall. 10.2cm wide at the rim. Please see the candle and my hands for scale, last photo shows my larger (more common) sized version of the bowl. Excellent condition.
Free P&P to the UK. Tealight candle included.
