A super iittala Cumulus or Cloud vase, designed by Markku Salo in the 1970s/1980s. It was produced originally for Nuutajarvi who later became part of iittala. Most of these have the Arabia Finn Crystal sticker on them, not many are from iittala. This has its original old triangular 'i Made in Finland' sticker, circa 1980s vintage.
The straight sided vase is much like Alvar Aalto's Savoy vase with a freeform cloud-like billowing rim/base. It is heavily grooved with a mass of vertical lines which catch the light beautifully. It's mould blown glass, probably with a crystal content, with a cut and polished flat rim. Hand made in Finland.
Excellent condition for 40-50 years old. No chips or nibbles. A good useful size at 17cm high x 10cm wide x 9cm deep.
