A super 1970s or 1980s Hornsea Concept vase, designed by Martin Hunt & Colin Rawson. The Concept design won a Design Council Award in 1977. The design was inspired by streamlined 1930s style with modern 1970s shapes. It has a series of evenly spaced concentric circles, with a slight step between each ring. Stylish and simple, this is the smaller ceramic/pottery round vase, in the harder to find deep burgundy red colouring. It's glossy and stripy and ideal for shorter stemmed garden flowers, or just for display. Very good condition. No chips; there's a lighter spot within the glaze shown in the centre of photo 4. The fine white spots have come off with a finger nail. Stamped to the base with 'Hornsea England'. Apx 10 x 10cm, rim is 5cm wide. Free P&P to the UK.
