A beautiful mid-century ceramic lidded pot by Gefle Upsala Ekeby, Sweden. Circa 1959 to 1964 vintage. It's stamped as 'Vinga' model number 860-4 with an impressed '4 BI'.
The stoneware pottery storage pot is short and cylindrical and glazed white. It has two hand painted dusky pink stripes with over printed black fishy decor. The abstract stylised fishes have different decors and are hanging from a line/curing. I'm not sure of the artist, possibly by Berit Ternell.
Good vintage condition with no chips or visible crazing. The pot has a dark wood lid which is great considering the age/era. The lid just balances on and doesn't look to have come with a seal. Being vintage the container is suited to dry items rather than kitchen food storage. The ceramic has some brown spotting and staining, mostly to the rim out of sight. Pot is 12.5 x 7cm, with lid on it's 8cm tall.
