An unusual vintage dusky blue/grey art glass fishy piggy bank...
I've been unable to find the exact maker but I've found it catalogued as 'Saving The Fish' and made in Finland. It's very likely to be by Riihimaki / Riihimaen Lasi Oy, one of the main Finnish glass manufacturers.
He's pressed glass like the Holmegaard/Cascade piggy bank versions. He's a stylised figure of a fish with large scales and round nose. Circa 1970s vintage.
Excellent condition. The only way to empty these is to smash them, therefore most likely unused. Very displayable, collectable and presentable.
8cm tall x 8cm wide 15.5cm long. Perfect for a mid-century home. More for display for a grown-up, than for a child's toy - although it would look fab out of reach in a nursery (or bathroom)!
