A stunning and very unusual vintage art glass bowl or pipe ashtray stand, probably designed by Emanuel Beranek for Skrdlovice Glassworks (Czech/Bohemian). Circa 1950s to 1960s mid century vintage. I can't find it catalogued or online, possibly unique. Similar pieces were also by Frantisek Zemek and Jan Beranek.
It's a large organic freeform glass formation with an oval opening and two small 'pulls' which could hold a pipe or cigar. A brown inner cased in pale yellow amber glass. Chunky and tactile glass, mouth blown and handmade by an artist. 
Excellent condition with no real signs of age or use. Very good flat polished base. No chips or visible scratches. 15.5cm long x 10.5cm tall x 14cm wide. 1.3kg - heavy and solid for its size.
