A 1960s example of a Cristillium (aluminium based) vase by Conrah. It's stamped to the base with an older Conrah logo with patent no 8655/67 - I would assume the '67' is 1967. Note, it is also made in England rather than Wales as per most 1970s Conrah Metal Products.
It's deep red and shiny and smooth, and has been machine-cut through in two star patterned bands to reveal the reflective silver coloured metal below. The red is a deep rich cherry or wine red. The silver catches the light in a really beautiful reflective way. Striking yet simple mid century modern British design.
Simple cylinder shaped, a medium sized 20.3cm x 5cm. It maintains the original green felt base with the central stamp which reads: "A Conrah Product. Prov Pat 8655/67. Made in England."
