A lovely 9" tall vase by Carstens Tönnieshof, West Germany or Austria. Circa 1960s to 1970s fat lava mid century era. It's in the fabulous Ankara decor and is in the black and blue colour way (with glossy browninner). Model number 3769/22 - a straight hour-glass simple shape. The model number is incised.
Deep petrol/teal blue with graphite grey/black geometric over-glaze. The bubbled pattern has been formed with a wax resist stencil/template. The Ankara design was by Scholtis.
23cm tall x 6cm rim x 8.5cm base - a useful sized slim piece for a mid-century room. It's in good condition with no chips or cracks, some slight marks in places to the matt surfaces. One scratch to the decor on the upper neck, please see photos.
