A lovely and elegant smokey brown glass decanter, designed by Domhnall OBroin in 1964 for Caithness, Scotland. Design is 'Morven', as per page 38 of Mark Hill's Caithness Glass book. This colour is Peat - a typically 1970s smokey warm brown colour, cased in clear glass. This design was produced until 1988, so circa late 1960s to mid 1980s. Distinctive angular shoulders and straight lines - fabulous classy design. This design of stopper also doubles up as a shot glass. 'Peat' colouring was used to compliment the whiskey contents, so most examples are in this colour-way.
Quality item in very good condition. Stopper has a tiny fleabite on the rim out of sight. Base has some signs of age and is etch signed with the Caithness logo.
Apx 26.5cm x 11.2cm. Weighs 1.18kg - a good chunk of handmade Scottish vintage glass.
P&P to the UK included.
