A more unusual vintage Bitossi (Italy) pottery vase. Designed by Aldo Londi and probably a 1970s piece. It's in their rich mustard (dark yellow ochre) glaze with a glossy dark chocolate brown upper.
A medium-sized ceramic vase, made from a heavy clay/stoneware, with a straight-sided block design. Small round flared rim, suited to just one stem if used. The flat rectangular sides have a linear impressed design to the top and a roughened freeform texture below. I can't find another like to for comparison. It may have been made for export by Raymor or Rosenthal Netter and probably just had a sticker to the base (now gone and no maker's marks). Handmade and rustic in feel and nature, with retro and brutalist vibes.
Excellent condition - these are very prone to glaze flakes due to the rough clay - but this example has no chips and is great. The block is 14 x 9.5 x 9cm. With rim it's 17cm tall.
Price includes P&P to the UK.
