A beautiful Bitossi (Italy) plant pot holder. Designed and signed by Aldo Londi with his distinctive 'Ztaly' signature to the base, circa mid century 1950s.
I've not been able to find out anything about this decor/pattern; it's model number N19/5P. The white glazed pot has a hand-painted deep yellow (mustard/ochre) checkered pattern, with overlaid fine gold gilt vertical stripes - most of which have worn off. A straight-sided flaring shape with rounded rim. Handmade and wheel thrown, rustic in feel and nature, with a terracotta coloured clay base. 
Excellent condition, please study photos. No chips, cracks or crazing - it looks contemporary. Just wear to the gold gilt stripes
10.5cm tall x 12.2cm wide at the rim (7cm wide base). Would hold a smaller narrower plant pot of 10cm high max, if used.
