A fab Modernist brooch by Bill Tender, New York, USA. Dating from the mid century 1950s or 1960s era, it's that beautifully stylised modernist and abstract style. Iconic American silversmith Bill Tendler (1906-1973) was one of the founders of the wearable art movement, his pieces were handmade and are likely unique.
A high quality Sterling 925 silver brooch in the shape of a flower or rose with a leaf, made from layered simple silver shapes. It's a good statement sized 65mm x 33mm and weighs a chunky 13 grams. Stamped 'Tendler' and 'Sterling' to the reverse. In very good condition, roll-over pin works well.
