A striking large vintage fat lava textured plant pot holder by Bay Keramik, West Germany. Dating from the 'fat lava' 1960s/1970s era, this is black lava over a vivid glossy red glazed heavy ceramic. The finish is both smooth and rough 3D - glossy with typical bubbling volcanic lava textures. Model number 43-16. Mid Century Modern and retro in styling - perfect statement for your mid-sized houseplants on your teak sideboard/shelving.
A larger sized 14cm tall x 16.5cm wide at the rim. It would fit a flower pot up to 13-14cm tall. For indoor use only. Stamped to base with 'Bay Keramik W-Germany 43 16'.
Really good condition for the age/era. One tiny rim nibble, see photos. No chips or crazing to the glaze and all very good. Any burst bubbles or flaws in the glaze are deliberate and part of appeal. Good inside too with not too many marks. Photos don't do it justice - it displays very well!
Price includes P&P to the UK via Royal Mail.
