A pretty set of six Arcopal cups and saucers (French Pyrex style). Milky white opal pressed glasswear, coated in 6 opalescent pale pastel shades with gold gilt trims. I think the design originated in 1958, so circa 1960s to 1970s vintage. Made in France. Mid-sized coffee cups, ideal for those French Press style coffees on a Sunday morning.
Colours are blue white, pale pink, pale peach, pale green, pale blue grey, and yellowy white - please see photos, they're very subtle shades. An original complete set - all stamped to the bases with the same logos. The nature of the Arcopal glassware design means these are durable - suitable for the dishwasher.
Very good condition with no chips or signs of use. No cutlery marks. Good colours, not faded. Gold gilt trims are good for the age, with some patches of wear from being handled, mostly to the peach cup. Being pressed glass there may be some manufacturing lines.
Each cup is around 8.5cm diameter (excl handle) x 4.8cm tall.... a mid-size. Saucers are 12.6cm wide. Apx 130ml, 5floz, 1/2 cup, or 1/4 pint sized cups.
Perfect for a Sunday morning in your retro 1950s or 1960s styled kitchen or garden!
