A 1962 design from Arabia, Finland - from the Anemone dinnerware range. This is the hard to find Anemone 10" round dinner plate. The shape and decor was designed by Ulla Procopé (she worked for Arabia from 1948 to 1968). The stoneware series was manufactured by the Arabia company until 1976. It is made of off-white heavy stoneware with a hand painted decoration of stylised dark blue flowers and leaves. It's hand signed to the back 'Arabia Finland UP | EK'.
Circa late 1960s mid century vintage. It is large and tactile, with dark blue colouring, beautifully designed and unique. If used, it's the perfect size for a dinner plate, but probably best for serving nibbles dishes or just kept for display. Deep enough to hold everything in place.
25.6cm wide x about 3cm tall max. Very good unused condition. It has a burst bubble to the glaze to the front (shown) and it has a few small historic imperfections to the baseline. But a nice example.
