A super Anita Harris art pottery small vase from AHS England, circa 2000-2008. Anita Harris is known for designing the Palm bowls at Dartington Glass in the early 1980s. She also worked as the head of design for Poole Pottery, moving on to the Cobridge Stoneware (Moorcroft) factory. She then went on to start her own small business (Anita Harris Studio, AHS) with designer Samantha Johnson at Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. Her current studio is called Anita Harris Art Pottery (AHAP). This piece is by AHS. You can clearly see inspiration from Poole Pottery's techniques and colours; it's just like the Living Glaze, Volcano and Odyssey Poole pieces. It's a deep red with firey orange, duck egg blue and black in abstract Iris flower shapes - Iris Flame design. Stamped to the base with 'AHS England' and with the decorator's mark SJ for Samantha Johnson. It's a small traditional vase shape - pocket sized and perfect for display or for a collection. 11.5 x 6 x 4.5cm. Excellent condition with deliberate bleeding glazes and whiter rim glaze. Free P&P to the UK.
