A super mid-century style silver brooch. The handmade sculptural piece is freeform cast silver and is stamped 'silver' to the back. 1960s/1970s style, but could be later. Very likely by a British artisan jeweller, like from a gallery or exhibition - and probably 925 silver.
The silver coloured wearable art sculpture is like abstract random molten drips. It is both Brutalist and Modernist and spiky organic in style. The polished silver is layered with different textures and shapes. The pin fastening on the back is a roll-over mechanism. It's stamped 'silver' to the reverse; I can't see a maker's mark.
Looks stunning on, just the right size to be a statement, yet different and unique. Can be worn any way up. Apx 38mm x 31mm. Weighs 8.8g. Very good wearable condition. The photos don't do it justice - it's lovely.
