A super 1970s lucite op art duck or goose figurine, by Abraham Palatnik, Brazil. The sculpture/paperweight is a rounded tall simplified shape with black solid and dotted lines representing wings, beak and eyes, and white lines up the neck and to the tail, sandwiched in the middle of clear 3D perspex. Minimalist, Modernist, mid-century, tactile - and hard to find.
The Brazilian artist Abraham Palatnik was a renowned innovator in kinetic, kinechromatic and op art - designing using lucite in the 1970s.
Very good condition for age and era with no noticeable scratches. No chips. Base has the original 'made in Brazil' label. A good sized: 16cm tall x 14cm wide x 3.5cm widest - narrow and ideal for display on a shelf.
A lovely mid century retro collectable figurine, very displayable.
