A set of three 'smoke' (retro greeny/grey) vintage shot glasses in the 'Canada' design by Per Lutken for Holmegaard, Denmark. The design dates from 1955, and they were in production until 1990. These could date from any time from the 1950s to 1980s, but most likely to be 1960s/1970s vintage. They're hand signed to their bases - it looks to read 'HG8'.
'Canada' is a Danish Modern classic design, as featured in Vigier and Pina's 'Scandinavian Glass 1930-2000, Smoke and Ice' book. The smoke version of Canada is often referred to as Scanada because the original boxes used S for smoke as a prefix before 'Canada'. These are the mid-sized 11.5cm tall Canada glasses - so either for port/sherry or for 'snaps'. They're 4.2-4.4cm wide at the rim. Being handmade they vary slightly and may have tiny bubbles and tooling marks, see photos.
Very good condition, and usable examples. The smoke colouring is typical of the mid century era - perfect to go with your retro home. May have a few tiny signs of age.
Includes P&P to the UK.
