A beautiful and good-looking 1980s Hornsea Concept Swan Lake salad or vegetable serving bowl. Concept was designed by Martin Hunt & Colin Rawson as a new and more feminine range, and was in production from 1977. The design was inspired by streamlined 1930s Art Deco style with modern 1970s shapes. This Swan Lake variation dates from 1983-1992, with a more 'romantic' look. This is the pale grey (satin glaze) version ceramic/pottery bowl with glossy white inner. The range features subtle steps of evenly spaced concentric circles. A stylish, timeless and minimalist design, perfect for today.
Good condition. No chips or cracks. There's some small marks - see pictures - subtle cutlery marks inside and a few similar marks outside. Stamped to the base with 'Oven to Tableware, Hornsea, England. Dishwasher freezer microwave oven safe. Swan Lake'.
19.5cm wide x 9cm tall. I believe it's classed as 3-pint, or 1.7 litres.
