A beautiful vintage 1978 Sterling silver reversible ingot pendant for a necklace. It can be worn with the oversized hallmarks (with the flat linear textured background) or with the cool jagged bark-textured side outwards. The maker is 'GMC', then anchor and lion assay marks represent Birmingham and sterling silver, while the 'D' is 1978. Sterling silver 925 grade, it weighs 14g.
It has a fab retro textures and a random shape, typically 1970s. I think it looks stunning worn either way round - Modernist and Brutalist in style - with a series of random grooves and lines catching the light. Please study photos.
Very good condition with some darker areas in the grooves. A reversible statement piece and a perfect gift idea. The flat pendant is 47mm x 19mm x 3mm, just the right size, and with upper loop it's 51mm long. No chain.
