An unusual 1975 Sterling silver 925 pendant made in Birmingham, England. It's typically brutalist and modernist and very much of its retro 1970s era. Perfect for a 50th birthday gift!
A unique and handmade molten silver retro pendant, like a raw nugget with horizontal folds and lines and raw molten textured inners. It is a rough square shape with knobbles, folds, holes, textures - like crushed foil or fabric. Both Brutalist and Modernist and organic in style. It's stamped on the back with the maker's mark which looks to be 'MXM', with the anchor and lion passant for Birmingham 925 silver, and 'A' for 1975.
The flat polished back has a chunky square hoop for the chain. It's on a replacement 20" 925 silver chunky curb chain with a snap ring fastening (all sterling silver 925).
Looks stunning on, just the right size to be a 70s statement. A good sized 45 x 40mm pendant. Weighs a chunky 25 grams with the chain. It's a fab and unique piece of mid century British silver.
