A stylish Modernist 1972 fully hallmarked Sterling Silver and gemstone ring...
A cabochon mounted amber-coloured oval stone - I'm not sure if the stone is reddy amber or an amber-coloured agate. The surround is wide flared open work, like pointy wings with a window each side. The band is flat and straight edged, narrowing to 7mm wide. The rounded polished stone sits up proud. All typically late 1960s and early 1970s with fab retro design and Modernist styling.
It's hallmarked: (I can't read the maker's name), with the two lion stamps for Sterling Silver London, and the date letter 'r' for 1972. The silver is British 925 grade.
It's a UK size K, please check that it should fit you (not adjustable, slightly bigger than a J, may also fit an L). It weighs 7.4 grams. The stone is about 12mm x 9mm, the silver pointy surround shape is 20mm long. The design extends the stone upwards by about 10mm. It's not too chunky, but looks quite the statement - probably more a women's ring.
Very good vintage condition. Looks very striking on. Very presentable, funky and retro, and a perfect gift idea...
Includes P&P to the UK. Comes in a basic presentation box.
