A lovely and elegant light plum purple glass decanter, designed by Colin Terris in 1972 for Caithness, Scotland. Design is 'Canisbay', as per page 41 of Mark Hill's Caithness Glass book. Terris was heavily influenced by Scandinavian design, and this series colouring was influenced by the Scottish landscape - this colour is Heather. It's cased in clear glass. This design was produced until 1988. (The design was awarded a Design Council accreditation shortly after its introduction).
Heavy quality item in excellent condition. It has ground down glass inside the neck and on the stopper to create a 'seal'.
