Who doesn't love an original box?
It was so nice to find this iittala glass bubble vase last week, in its original box and with the old 1966 leaflet (look at that 1960s graphic design!)
This vase is from the series of coloured cylinder vases made by iittala, Finland. It was designed in 1959 by Tapio Wirkkala and is model no 3586.
They were made through the 1960s to 1970 and vary in width and height and colour - this is 190mm tall - there's lots to collect!
There's masses of copies of these vases. I always look at the bases of similar vases, and in 8 years of checking hundreds of copies, this is the first genuine signed version I've seen (iittala versions are always signed).
