XL Borske Sklo 'large olives', golden amber glass ball vase/bowl, 60s Bohemian/Czech. Vintage orb/optical round circular pot. Mid century

Here's my lovely vintage 'large olives' big round vase/bowl. It's Czech/Bohemian and made by Borske Sklo in the 50s or early 60s. I think this is an early example, with thin fragile glass. It's a golden amber colour, clear, with oval optical pattern. A lot of these vases are the smaller sized versions. This is an unusually big example - about 9.5" tall x 10" wide max. 1.2kg. It's mold blown with a spotted 'olives' design. It has the tell-tale impressed cross on the base from the mold.

As with many of these, the top inside rim is very fragile and susceptible. This example is very good, one chip as shown in the photo and one tiny imperfection - please see the rim photos, it's pretty intact! No other marks, chips or imperfections that I can see. Really nice example.

An art glass/statement, a great centre piece or talking point. Mid-century Modernist in style/era.
