XL 'Apollo 11' 1969 vase by Royal Norfolk Pottery. 1960s vintage, Royal/cobalt blue textured. Commemorative Mid century/Modernist/Space Age

A very striking and large retro vase by Royal Norfolk Pottery, Staffordshire, England. This one was made in 1969 to commemorate the Apollo 11 flight to the moon, it's the last and largest of the set of four rare vases produced by Royal Norfolk. A vivid Royal or Cobalt blue glossy textured glaze, with crater-like undulating textures. The textures catch the light and the colour and form is so striking. Simple 1960s Modernist shape with straight lines. Smooth and dark blue internally.

Excellent condition. 12" tall x 14cm wide at the base x 10.5cm wide at the rim. Stamped on the base.

Great for any mid century/retro/vintage home or for collectors of space memorabilia.
