Whitefriars 9689 6" bark textured vase. Flint/clear glass, Geoffrey Baxter 1960's/1970's Mid-century/vintage/retro. British art glass.
A very good example of the distinctive 'bark' textured vase by Geoffrey Baxter.
Whitefriars - British and quality.
It's clear - known as 'flint'.
It appeared in the Whitefriars catalogues from about 1967-1980, I think, so likely to be late 60's or 70's era.
15cm tall, just shy of 6". 6.7cm wide at rim.
No chips or sharp edges. No scratches that I can see.
There is however a bit of water staining and one microscopic nick on the rim (so small you can't see it).
Base shows the signs of age you'd expect for era.
Pretty good useable condition. Lovely on display and in use.
Hard to photograph!
