Wedgwood Design 63, ceramic blue/black geometric storage pot/jar/container. Robert Minkin, vintage 1960s. Retro kitchenalia canister, op art

A super Wedgwood of Etruria & Barlaston ceramic storage jar, named 'Design 63'. Off-white ceramic with blue and black diamond and striped geometric patterns. Designed by Robert Minkin in 1963, so likely to be 1960s era. Made in England. Very hard to find, particularly in this rarer blue black combination (most have the yellow/blue/black colourway). Retro op art styling, on a classical shape. Lidded with a vintage cork - unsure how old the cork is, it's not original as far as I can tell. The cork sits neatly on an inner lip.

Design 63 was a range of boxes and jars in Queensware porcelain with references to African textiles and architecture of Eastern Europe; Classicism meets Modernism.

A larger size version: 18cm tall x 9cm wide max. Stamped to the base, including some hand writing in red 'TR 633', and some quality control stamps.

Very clean and bright with no chips, cracks or crazing - glaze is all as originally manufactured (see natural bleed of ink on the last photo). There's a little discolouration along the baseline. Very collectable and displayable condition.

Price includes P&P to the UK.
