A funky round single stem vase or solifleur by Walther Glas, West Germany. Designed by Heiner Düsterhaus. Circa 1970s vintage.

Can be viewed either way round - the frosted vertical strip with lower clear dot, with bark textured surround, or the glossy flat side. The three dimensional frosted strip looks like an exclamation mark with an indented circle at the base. The item has a smooth back, base and sides. Main photo shows it from the frosty side. Circular disc shaped, with a narrow hole at the top for a single stemmed statement flower. Could also be used as a candle holder for a narrow tapered candle (hole is 1.5cm wide and apx 5cm long), or just a statement paperweight. Clear pressed/moulded glass with a retro icy look.

A smaller version of the design, 8.3cm tall x 9cm wide x 3cm deep - a good chunk of glass. Excellent condition.
