Adorable! A set of five Walter Bosse style vintage stacking metal hedgehogs.

Designed by Walter Bosse in the 1950s these are the Russian copy/interpretation, probably 1960s vintage. (The design was not copyrighted). The largest hedgehog has the Russian logo to the base. These Russian versions are nicely made with close up details. They're a lovely monotone grey black colouring.

This aluminum set was produced either as a promotional giveaway for an airline (possibly Aeroflot) or as Russian Souvenirs. Cast metal - a blackened aluminum to look like a bronze. Blackened inners, polished dark silver in parts - spines, noses etc. Details in the casting on the spines, eyes, ears etc, see photos. Intended as a set of 6 ashtrays (this set is missing the tiny one), but now more ornamental and for display.

Stacked - 11 x 7 x 6cm. They're in good condition for age and era, they have a few small signs of use/marks (mostly internal and between spines).
