Walter Becht 668/1 West German pottery vase. Purple Oberhessische Keramik Fat Lava jug pitcher. 1960s/1970s vintage retro ceramic. WGP pot
A vibrant pitcher vase by Walter Becht (Oberhessische Keramik), West Germany. This is a pitcher jug design, with a small rounded handle. Dating from the 'fat lava' 1960s/1970s era, this is a fun bright violet purple, with raised blue splatters/spots and metallic bronze lower third. The purple is matte, and the blue spots are a lilac/sky blue and are textured/dripping; they merge through to white spots near the handle.
The shape is 668/1. Fully stamped to base with 'WB668/1'. Perfect mid size for a decent bunch of flowers (inner neck is 4cm wide). Mid Century Modern and retro in styling - perfect for your sideboard and to add to a collection.
17cm tall x 10.5cm wide at the rounded belly. Excellent condition with just natural imperfections in the glaze from time of manufacture.
Price includes P&P to the UK.
