Vintage Whitefriars 9683 Kingfisher blue 6.5" nailhead vase. 1960s/1970s. Geoffrey Baxter, square textured art glass. Mid century nail head

A striking Whitefriars (England) art glass vase in a tall slim rectangular shape - an iconic 'nailhead'. Kingfisher blue colour - a very striking vibrant zingy deep turquoise Whitefriars colour.

The vase was designed in the 1960s by Geoffrey Baxter. It's a random indented pattern of dots, resembling round nail heads on two sides, and smooth glass on the other two sides. The randomness of the dots (and the colourway) dates it to apx 1967-1973 as I believe the mould was changed to a more precise dot pattern in the mid 1970s. The colour is cased in clear/flint glass.

Great condition with no chips, nibbles, cracks or sharp areas. Due to the handmade and unique nature of this vase, here's a natural stretched bubble internally that you can see from the side, it adjoins the rim - please see all photos. No signs of age - it's been very well looked after - hard to believe it's 50 years old! Fantastic example... and so retro.

Measures 17cm in height, 4.5 x 4.2cm wide - the smaller Nailhead.

Prices includes P&P to the UK.
