Vintage Swedish Rune Tennesmed pewter apple pendant & 29" necklace. Mid century modern 1960s/1970s. Retro openwork, stylised Scandinavian

A fabulous mid century pewter pendant on its original vintage necklace. It's by Rune Tennesmed and was made in Sweden in the 1960s/1970s.

Rune Tennesmed was a 20th century Swedish designer who worked primarily in pewter. The name Tennesmed translates to pewtersmith. His birth name of Rune Carlsson was changed to reflect his profession and became the name of his company.

The retro pendant is an openwork apple core shape with feature central round. A good-sized 57 x 40mm pendant - a nice wearable and noticeable size. It's stamped to the back with 'R Tennesmed Sweden'. Original retro chunky steel chain is around 29", it is long and slip-on. Weighs 31 grams total.

Very good vintage condition for the age. Being pewter it is a natural dull grey silver colouring with not much shine.

A great Scandi necklace, perfect as a gift for a mid century lover.
