Vintage Schlossberg Kuba vase #32, West German Pottery. Liesel Spornhauer, 1950s mid century pot. Retro Fat Lava era, black & white. Ceramic

A small vase or pot by Schlossberg, West Germany. Model number 32, it's the sought-after Kuba design by Liesel Spornhauer dating from around 1958. From the 'fat lava' era, this vase has a 3D liquid-glazed white lines with random coloured infill glazes (glossy custard yellow, red, duck egg blue) - modernist, retro and Mondrian in style. The base is a dull matt brown/black (like a blackboard texture, it's hard to wipe clean and susceptable to marks). Pale grey internally. The base is marked with model number '32' and 'Foreign'.

It's a small 9.5cm tall x 8.5cm wide max, 4.5cm wide rim. Very good condition for age and era. There's a small 1mm chip to the baseline, and some surface scuff marks on the matt black, please enlarge all photos. No cracks. Great gift for a collector, a hard to find item.
