Vintage Scheurich 242-22 West German blue pottery vase, Fat Lava era. 1960s/1970s mid century retro ceramic pot Germany. Liquid drip glaze
A fab retro vase by Scheurich Keramik, West Germany, dating from the 1960s/1970s 'fat lava' era.
This vintage pottery vase is different tones of smooth blues, all dripping and glossy and liquid. The blues vary from light sky blue through to a more dusky blue grey underneath.... the photos make it look bluer; it's slightly paler.
It tapers inwards towards the round rim, a typical simple Scheurich shape. Mid Century Modern and retro in styling - perfect statement for your teak sideboard and to add to a collection.
The shape is 242-22... 22 denoting 22cm tall. 11cm wide max. Rim is 8cm wide. Stamped to the base. Ideal size for a decent bunch of flowers and ideal to match with blue decor.
Good condition with no chips; it does have fine crazing and a few tiny signs of use (some teeny pin-prick dots to the glaze). There a natural ceramic deformity within the design, a bubble spot (middle of photo 2), from being handmade. Tested for watertightness. Please also see photos showing decor and condition.
Price includes P&P to the UK.
