A super stylish (and weighty) vintage Robert Welch nut cracker, from the Hobart range.

The Hobart Nutcracker is an original Robert Welch design from 1964. This is a vintage version, probably 1970s/1980s, with its original maker's sticker and felt protective feet to the base. It is still available today as part of the Legacy Collection, celebrating 60 years of design from Welch's workshop at Chipping Campden (today's retail price is £34).

Made from solid cast iron, coloured black, with a steel spindle. It uses a simple wind up and down mechanism. Height is 150mm (when fully wound down), width is 132mm across the top handle. Weighs 1.4kg.

Very good condition. Fully functional and an iconic design. Why buy new when you can buy vintage?!
