An adorable stylised hedgehog by Prima Pottery (PP), Folkestone, Kent, from the 1960s or 1970s or so.
Prima Pottery was started in 1967 by Marcus (Marc) Goldberger, and continued until the 1990s. This cute hedgehog is handmade with red clay and has sgraffito scratched spines. He's glazed in tones of glossy brown. Cute glazed face with holes for eyes and little pointy wonky nose. Slot for money on his back. Stamped with the logos to the base, as well as hand signed 'Marc'. He's an unused moneybox - ie empty.
Apx 9.5 x 8.5cm. A lovely collectable example of a PP creature. Nice condition with just a hidden historic chip within the money slot, please see all photos.
