Vintage Pablo Zabal 2 x blue & white turtle figurines. 1970s ceramic pottery 'Blue Zoo' ornaments. Made in Chile, sgraffito folk art turtles

A pair of adorable matching ornamental turtle figurines by Pablo Zabal (Chile, South America), dating from around the 1970s...

There's a small and medium cute turtle. They're from the 'Blue Zoo' range of similarly decorated hollow blue and white animals. The mid blue glaze has been hand carved through to the white layer to form simple traditional patterns. I'm unsure if they're porcelain or a white clay. Both signed to the base - you can make out 'Pablo Zabal' and 'Chile'. The blue is like a summer's sky.

Small - a small and lovable 6 x 4 x 3cm, about a golf ball size. Excellent.
Medium - 11 x 7 x 5cm, about an avocado size. Good, with one chip to his tail, see 7th photo, and some wear to the feet from age/movement.
