Vintage Murano sommerso bud vase + label. Large 12" solifleur single stem vase. 1960s Mid century. Red glass/amber floating colour. Teardrop

A lovely over-sized Murano sommerso art glass bud vase, with original sticker to the base. It's 12" or 30cm tall with a thick rounded belly - stretched teardrop shaped. Circa 1960s vintage, Mid-century styling from Venice, Italy - very typical of the age/era and area. It has a vivid red inner with an amber floating submerged colour (sommerso), cased in clear glass.

Round petite top/rim, merging down to a bulbous lower part. Flat polished base with hardly any wear and an original oval gold paper label. Would hold a just a single long flower stem - solifleur. This shape of bud vase is often attributed to Galliano Ferro and Flavio Poli - I'm unsure of the exact maker.

Hand made/blown by an artist, so has tiny bubbles from time of manufacture. You can also see the amber sommerso layer is off-centre. Flat polished delicate rim has some small chips/bites on the inside line, see last close-up photo. One scratched area on the side towards the bottom, the scratch is 1cm and catches with a fingernail. Overall, very good displayable and presentable example.

30cm tall x 10cm wide (drinks can shown for scale), weighs just under 1.1kg. I'd give it a 8/10 - a decent and sizable example!
