Vintage Kosta Boda art glass OWL. Bertil Vallien Zoo Series, 1970s retro Scandinavian. Swedish paperweight ornament. Flat back bird figurine

A beautiful small owl from the Zoo Series designed by Bertil Vallien for Boda (later became Kosta Boda) in the 1970s. He's the smallest one from the series of zoo animals (there's two sizes of owls, see last photo). High quality Swedish/Scandinavian art glass. Has a flat back, often used as a paperweight or an ornamental for display. I think they were all handmade - blown in to a mould - undoubtedly with a crystal content glass. The design is often wrongly attributed to Erik Hoglund too. This owl was model no 97714-3.

Small sized - He's 3" tall (7.5cm). Excellent vintage condition. Very displayable and would make a great addition to a Zoo Collection! Perfect gift idea too.
