Vintage Italian Fratelli Fanciullacci pottery/ceramic jug. 1950s signed '704 Italy'. Pale blue, black & coloured squares, textured. Vase pot

A fabulous 1950s or 1960s patterned jug by Fratelli Fanciullacci, Italy. Pottery/ceramic with a matte pale blue textured (splattered/bobbled) base glaze with random white glossy lines, glossy black square lines (wavy grid) with glossy infills of yellow, sky blue, red and lime green. Signed on base '704 Italy'. See final photo - it's FF's hallmark design as featured on p103 of Mark Hill's Alla Moda book. Each piece was hand-painted so it is unique, and any drips, skips and flaws are part of the artistic appeal.

Very good for the age and era with no chips or cracks. Some glaze has worn thin on the rim so there are natural areas of missing glaze. There's a mark near the top of the handle. Please also see all photos for condition.

12cm tall x 7.7cm widest at the rim - a very unusual quirky shape. Would hold about 10 flower stems if used as a vase. A classic bit of Italian retro kitsch!

Price includes P&P to the UK.
