Vintage Freiberg cooking dish. Retro yellow/red flower power. Cooking/serving/ovenware. GDR, East German earthenware. Casserole open baking

A super mid century oven cooking or serving dish, by Freiberg (Cordoflam), and made in the GDR (East Germany). Being East German it's likely to date from the 1970s or early 1980s. It's a series of retro stylised and simplified flowers and plants printed over a glossy white base. The flowers are vivid pure yellow, red and green with fine black outlines.

A simple round dish with carry handles. Both a usable kitchen item and a decorative dish. Perfect for casseroles, lasagnes, serving vegetables, and for open baking other dishes. Stamped to the base with logo. It's a weighty and durable earthenware heat-proof ceramic.

Very good condition - it's hardly used. There are some natural imperfections in the bright white glaze from time of manufacture (tiny dots, pits), see photos.

23.5cm long with handles. 21 x 6.5cm round dish.

Price includes P&P to the UK.
