Vintage Diamond brand alarm clock. Chrome surround & blue retro mid century table-top bedside clock. Shanghai, China. 1960s/1970s wind-up

A super mid-century table-top alarm clock. It's by the Diamond brand, from Shanghai, China. Circa late 1960s or 1970s vintage.

The blue oval face has glow in the dark dots showing every 5 minutes, plus on the hands. The face has subtle gold trim, with a small bit of red. It has a chromed plastic surround and the clock sits on atomic style chrome/silver coloured feet. To the reverse the mechanism is cased in metallic blue metal. It has an alarm - the back face is loose to provide a metal face for the alarm hammer to strike against. It is wind up, with some adjustment knobs to tweak to help it keep time.

It's in really good aesthetic condition. Very displayable or collectable. Works - needs winding every day, but not over-winding. The alarm works. I can't guarantee it will keep time without tweaks and winding regularly. Perfect for a collection and for show, and to go with mid century blue-coloured home decor - great example.

Face is 14 x 11cm. Overall 12cm tall x 7cm deep.
