Vintage Danish A.P. Berg silver plated candlestick/candle holder. Mid century modern Modernist 60s Denmark. Two arms, tapered dinner candles

A lovely mid century silver-plated candle holder by A.P. Berg, Denmark. Circa 1960s vintage. Simplified Modernist Scandinavian (with a splash of traditional) in style - a nicely made vintage item - made in Denmark. Berg were known for their candlesticks, flatware and jewellery*.

The hallmark/stamp is the AP Berg standing man/knight figure, with 'B' under. Feels and shines like sterling silver but it's silver plated metal. Simple round candle holders with round catchers, with a sturdy scooping branch with tubular centre, and round base.

Perfect for a dinner table - 26cm tall x 15cm wide x 8cm deep at the foot. For slimmer tapered dinner candles (openings are 2.1cm wide max). Good condition. The silver has been polished up and is good and shiny and reflective; I've also removed most of the wax. Some fine marks to the silver from age/polishing and one little dink to the side of the base (pic 7).

*A.P.Berg was active from 1958 to 1983 in Assens on the island of Funen. He made jewellery items which were marked only with a figural logo - later identified as Berg. Berg's popular candlesticks and flatware are marked with the same figural logo.
