Vintage Czech Bohemian Harrachov Harrtil art glass bowl dish ashtray. Peach & white lace swirl, Milos Pulpitel. 1950s mid-century Sklo Union

A stunning vintage art glass bowl, designed by Milos Pulpitel for Harrachov Glassworks (Czech/Bohemian), in 1955. The organic and asymmetric shapes were designed by Milan Metelak, Milena Veliskova or Marie Stahlikova in the late 1950s. Circa 1950s or 1960s.

The design was inspired by historic Venetian lace glass, and is from the Harrtil range of bowls. A biomorphic free-form glass shape with internal white 'lace' which I believe is formed from woven glass fibres (from Czech manufacturer Vertex). The glass is a very pale peach or pale salmon pink, with the lace within it. It has two folded in edges and two pulled and twisted glass spiral shapes. Would have been a large fancy ashtray originally. Chunky quality glass, mouth blown and artist designed and skillfully executed. Flat polished base.

A good sized 16.5 x 12.5 x 7cm. 690g. Very good condition for the age and era. No chips, and doesn't look to have been used internally. Some tiny internal bubbles.
