A striking Cristillium (aluminium based) bud vase or candle holder by Conrah Metal Products, Wales. Circa 1972 vintage. It's gold metallic coated which has been cut through in a diamond pattern to reveal the silver coloured metal below.

Being aluminium/cristillium it is a lightweight and a soft metal. Cylinder shaped with a foot, it's a 15 x 2.5cm tube (internally 2.1cm wide so just about wide enough for a standard tapered dinner candle, at a squeeze), the foot is 5cm wide. It's 17cm tall total. It maintains the original sticker to the felt base which reads: "Design Copyright 1967 & 1972. Cristillium. Made in Wales. Conrah Metal Products". Being metallic it was hard to photo without reflections. The gold is a light gold colour. It's more for display and a collection than for use.

It is in really great condition with not many signs of use/age. Striking yet simple Modernist British design.
