A stunning mid century studio pottery cat figurine, by Christina Grey, Chester, from the 1960s.

These cat figurines are exquisite and hard to find; you can see the beautiful workmanship that goes into each one. This 'Cheshire Cat' has a huge grin, cheeky yellow eyes looking off to the right, and is a seated black and white tabby. There's a lot of very fine details in the face. He's probably model number 240.

The clay is a white fine clay like a porcelain. He would have been hand moulded then hand decorated. He's hand scribed to the base with 'Christina Grey Chester'. I don't know if Chester is the cat's name or her location.
